Olive J. Ashworth, age 83, of Marion, died Monday, June 04, 2012 at Marion General Hospital.
Olive was born on October 25, 1928 to the late Bertie Alfred and Lesta Olive “Lanthorn” Eblin in Gallipolis, OH.
She married Lewis “Summers” Ashworth who preceded her in death on November 28, 2008.
Olive retired from Dairy Mart and Lawson’s Market and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending Bible Study and Bible Circle Classes at Trinity Baptist Church.
Olive is survived by her son, Jeffrey Brett Hersmann of Marion; one sister, Agnes Henderson of Gallipolis, Ohio; granddaughter, Sarah McDonald; five great-grandchildren, Emma, Richy, Will,Norah, and Leah; several nieces and nephews; and special friend Carl Hecker. In addition to her parents and husband, Olive is preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Glenn, and Cecil Watson.
Family will receive friends Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, 347 West Center Street from 5 PM until 7PM. A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, June 8, 2012 at Trinity Baptist Church, 244 S. Main Street, Marion, OH with Dr. Richard Farmer officiating.
