Carolyn Sue (Hersman) Jones, 64, of Marion

Carolyn Sue (Hersman) Jones age 64 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Friday July 13, 2012 at Marion General Hospital. She was born May 4, 1948 in Marion to John and Eva (Grate) Hersman. Her parents both survive and live in Marion.

Carolyn was a graduate of Marion Harding High School, class of 1966, and a member of Dayspring Wesleyan Church. Her work encompassed working for nearly 30 years helping others. She retired at the end of 2009 and became a "stay-at-home" grandma. Her heart was her children and grandkids and she spent numerous hours listening to each of them. She loved hearing the grandkids stories about school, toys and anything that was of interest to them. She was a strong believer in Christ and lived her faith in her actions and in the way she loved. She was an amazing mother and grandmother ("Grandma Mop"). She was her children's cheerleader, advocate, confidant and spoke with each of them daily to be filled in as to what was going on in each of their lives and was so proud of each of them and would tell all who would listen.

Besides her parents, Carolyn is survived by a daughter and two sons and five grandchildren; Kimberly Haines of Marion, Ohio, John Jones of Keller, Texas, and Tom Jones of Marion, Ohio, Kaitlyn, Tyler and Lauren of Keller, Texas and Samuel and Josh of Marion, Ohio. She is also survived by several Uncles and Aunts as well as many very close cousins including her best friend Marsha. Family was very important and close to her heart regardless of distance.

Funeral Services for Carolyn will be Thursday July 19, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Dayspring Wesleyan Church, 2431 Marion Mt. Gilead Rd. Marion, Ohio. Officiating the Service will be Pastor Paul Service. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday July 18, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M.
