Erma Jean Mautz, age 84, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at her home.
Erma was born in Marion County on February 9, 1928, to Clarence A. and Hazel Marie (Graham) Hensel. Erma graduated from Claridon High School in the class of 1946. In 1950, Erma was united in marriage to Charles E. Mautz in Marion; together they have shared 62 years of marriage.
Erma’s full time job was that of a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her life. She delighted in each and every one of them. She will be remembered for her love of music. She was a gifted pianist, playing in churches and also at the Marion Country Club.
Erma is survived by her beloved husband Charles E. Mautz; her devoted children Allen Mautz and Jean (Gary) Lake; her loving grandchildren: Andrew ( Sheryl) Lake, Jason (Dana) Lake, Joshua Lake and Rachel (Andy) Grizzell and her great grandchildren: Colton and Ryker Lake.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Charles Mautz and her sister Dorine E. Laucher.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center Street, Marion, from 12PM to 2PM; Funeral services will immediately follow at 2PM with Pastor Tim Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Claridon Cemetery.
