Gene Edward Hipsher, 79, of Caledonia and formerly Dunkirk

Gene Edward Hipsher, age 79, of Caledonia and formerly Dunkirk, passed away Friday morning, August 17h at Marion General Hospital.

He was born in Dunkirk on March 3rd, 1933, as the son of the late Samuel and Mae Hipsher.

Gene married to the former Morna Huber on July 17, 1959 and she survives.

He worked as a tree trimmer, owning the Hipsher’s Tree Service and retired after thirty years in 1995. Gene was a history buff, enjoyed collecting bottles and was an avid outdoorsman especially when it came to fishing and hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one son Ronald (Pamela) Hipsher of Caledonia, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren, two brothers; Jess Hipsher of Dunkirk and Richard Hipsher of Findlay Gene was also preceded in death by his daughter Lauraly Hipsher in 1976, eleven brothers and sisters.

The Hipsher family has chosen cremation as a means of final disposition. The ashes will be scattered in Dunkirk at a later date. Friends may express condolences to the family at www.timsonallenmelroy.com.
