John Williamson Jr., age 84, of Marion passed away early Monday evening at Marion General Hospital.
Born in Glow, Kentucky on February 8, 1928 to John and Maudie (Chaffins) Williamson Sr.
He married the former Harriet McKee on March 25, 1946 and she survives at home.
John served his country proudly in the United States Navy and retired as a Superintendent at Armco Steel.
He was a member of Marion Lodge #70 F & AM and American Legion Post #162. An avid golfer, he was proud of making a hole-in-one from the #3 tee at King’s Mill Golf Course and had been a Senior Tourney Champion there.
Surviving with his wife are his 3 children; Linda (David) Clark, Sue (Michael) Schweigert and Dan (Marcia) Williamson, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. John was preceded in death by 2 sisters.
A graveside service will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 AM at Chapel Heights Memory Garden with Pastor Mark Haines officiating. The Hughes-Allen Funeral Home is assisting his family with the arrangements.
