Larry G. Hanshaw, 68 of Prospect

Larry G. Hanshaw age 68 of Prospect, Ohio, passed away Wednesday August 1, 2012 at Marion General Hospital. He was born July 16, 1944 in Marion to the late Charles Hanshaw and the late Willa Mae (Cox) Hanshaw Webster. On October 12, 1968 in Marion, Ohio, he married Theresa L. (Shumate) and she survives.

Larry was retired as a parts salesman with Advanced Auto. He also at one time worked at the former Marion Power Shovel Co., and worked for fourteen years with McDaniels Automotive. Larry was a graduate of Marion Harding High School, class of 1962, member of Y-Mens, and the Huber Museum. He was a past member of the National Guard, loved to work on antique cars, and was a Red Cross Blood Donor. Larry also truly enjoyed his two grandsons.

Besides his wife, Larry is survived by a son; Brent A. (Heather) Hanshaw of Prospect, Ohio, two grandsons; Dylan and Bryce, and three brothers and a half-brother; Keith (Nancy) Hanshaw of Barberton, Ohio, Ernie (Jan) Hanshaw and Gerald (Karen) Hanshaw both of Marion, Ohio, and Leslie Hanshaw of Winchester, Ky. Also numerous nieces and nephews survive.

There will be a Graveside Service for Larry on Monday August 6, 2012 at the Marion Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Dwight Hord. Burial will follow. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Sunday August 5, 2012 from 4 to 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the Huber Museum.
