Sheila Kay (Shaw) Stayner, 52, of Marion

Sheila Kay (Shaw) Stayner, age 52, of Marion, went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 20, 2012.

Sheila was born in Lima, Ohio, on April 18, 1960.

She was the daughter of Richard and Alice (Quillen) Shaw.

She was raised in Lima where she attended school, graduating from Lima Bath High School in the class of 1978. After high school, Sheila attended OSU Lima, graduating with an associate’s degree. She then worked as an administrative assistant for the North Central Ohio Rehabilitation Center.

Sheila and David Stayner had moved to Marion in the early 1980’s where they raised their 3 beautiful children: Yvonne, Laurie and Alex.

Sheila will forever be remembered for her amazing spirit. She had been blessed with many gifts and she lived them out daily. She was full of encouragement, always seeing the possible in life rather than the impossible. No matter what the hard times might be she always remained positive and continued to smile and knew that laughter truly is the best medicine. She also had the ability to know just the right thing to say in any circumstance; she never once would make anyone feel judged, but rather lovingly accepting everyone where they were at. She was a great storyteller and her pride and joy was to be able to tell stories to her grandson whom she spent many special times with.

Sheila has the assurance of eternal life through her relationship with Jesus. Her faith sustained her in life and now carries her into heaven. She knew that her weakness was made strong in Christ and she always continued to grow in her faith. She attended the Richland Road Church of Christ, attended Bible studies at the Mt. Vernon Avenue Church of Christ and enjoyed coffee with friends.

Sheila leaves behind a rich legacy in her family. Her children: Yvonne Stayner, Laurie Stayner and Alex Stayner; her beloved grandson Hayden Dranschak, her siblings: Sylvia (Dan) Otten, Shelby (Joe Clark) Golden, Randy Shaw and Tony (Linda) Shaw; also many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
