Vernal F. " Buddy " Mount age 71 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Saturday August 11, 2012 at Partners of Marion.
He was born June 24, 1941 in Athens Co., Ohio to the late Floyd A. and Mary Lucille (Draper) Mount.
On February 7, 1962, Vernal married Shirley E. (Thacker) and she survives.
He was a retired Truck Driver and worked various other trade jobs through out his life. His family said he was a Jack of all Trades.
Vernal was a U.S. Army Veteran and he loved fishing, deer hunting, and especially wood working.
He is also survived by two sons; Paul Andrew Mount of Malta, Ohio, and Vernon Eugene Mount of Marion, Ohio. Eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren survive as well as one sister and one brother; Mary Goins of Malta, Ohio and William Lester (Barb) Mount of Marion, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son; Dwayne Scott Mount, a great- grandson, three sisters, and a brother.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday August 14, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the White Oaks Road Freewill Baptist Church. Officiating the service will be the Revs. Danny Dickerson and Grover Caudill. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday August 14, 2012 two hours prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
