Bernice M. Williams age 91 of Marion, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Sterling House.
She was born May 10, 1921 in Union County, Ohio to the late John J. and Jessie E. (Laughorn) Shirk Sr.
On March 23, 1940 in Raymond, Ohio she married Dwight E. Williams.
Bernice was a former resident of Union County, she then moved in 1946 to Marion, Ohio where she was a former member of Oakland United Methodist Church for over 64 years and now a member of Mount Vernon Avenue Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Dwight E. Williams of Marion, OH., her son, Lee E. (Nikki) Williams of Meeker, OH., her daughter, Joan E. DeWitt of Marion, OH., 7 grandchildren, Deborah (Mark) Reebel, Diana (Gary) Carn, Sheri (Mike) Cook, Janet (Tim) VanGordon, Wayne (Darcy) Williams, Lori Groseclose, Chris (Celeste) Newlove, 8 great grandchildren, Jim (Bryne) Davis, Bobbie Davis, Sydney Cook, Andrew VanGordon, Ethan VanGordon, Jacob VanGordon, Bryce Williams, Tyler Williams, her brother, Larry L. (Phyllis) Shirk of Marion, OH., her sister, Mary A. Keefer of Marion, OH., and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Jr. and Robert, three sisters, Betty Jane, Joan and Wilma.
Funeral services for Bernice will be Thursday, September 6, 2012 @ 10 AM at the Boyd-born Funeral Home with Rev. Rafeal Valazco officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 5 – 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
