Edith Elizabeth Hoover of 226 Hane Ave., Marion, died on Sunday, July 16, 2012 after a long illness. She joins her husband of 54 years, Phillip R. Hoover, who died on June 30, 2012. Mrs. Hoover was 70.
Family and friends will lovingly remember her warm, witty sense of humor and affectionate pride in her children and grandchildren. She loved games and played to win. Some of her favorite times were with her sisters playing bingo, fishing with her husband and children, or playing games with family after a holiday meal that she prepared.
A native of Marion, she was born on June 14, 1942 to Charles H. and Mary A. (Jacobs) Huntsman, who precede her in death. Also deceased are her three brothers, William E., Clifford H., and Harvey E. Huntsman, and a sister, Cora B. Ledley.
Surviving Mrs. Hoover are five children, Richard D. (Sue E.) Hoover of Mansfield, Deborah K. (Laura L. Allen) Hoover of Silver Spring, MD, Bruce A. (Christina M.) Hoover of Delaware, Phillip G. Hoover of Washington, DC, Larry E. (Vicki S.) Hoover of Manchester, CT, and five grandchildren. Two sisters survive, Josephine B. Hendrickson of Marion, and Barbara J. (Ronald) Allinder of Prospect. Mrs. Hoover’s little dog Charlie, who she loved as if a child, also survives.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, 347 W. Center St. Marion, with subsequent gravesite service at Grand Prairie Cemetery at Brush Ridge, Morral. Family and friends can attend viewing services on Tuesday, September 18 from 5-8 p.m. at Gunder/Hall & Folk.
