John R. Webb, age 73 of 400 Delaware Ave., in Marion, formerly of Richwood died Thursday evening, August 30, 2012 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1939 in Union County to the late Austin and Vadie (Holbrook) Webb.
He was a farmer. He loved science and science magazines. He enjoyed fishing when he was younger. Being sports-minded, he was an Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed watching OSU basketball and football.
He is survived by a sister, Betty (Richard) Scheiderer, Marion; a sister-in-law, Ruth Webb, Richwood; four nephews, Len (Bev) Webb; Bob (Vicki) Webb; Kevin (Vicky) Scheiderer; Mark Scheiderer all of Marion; and 3 great-nieces, 4 great-nephews and 3 great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Webb and a sister, Dorothy Webb.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Alan Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Price Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM.
