Joyce E. Hayes, age 78 of the Iberia area, entered into rest Friday afternoon September 07th, 2012 in the Olentangy Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Galion.
Joyce was born on May 26th, 1934 in Marion County as the daughter of the late Ralph & Lucille (Rinker) Roesch.
On June 28th, 1959 she married Thomas Hayes and he survives her at home.
Joyce was a graduate of Bowling Green State University and retired from teaching after having taught First Grade at Avon Lake, Galion and River Valley Schools.
She was a dedicated member of Iberia United Methodist Church, She was an avid reader and enjoyed mysteries and adventure novels. She and Tom traveled throughout the Continental United States with the family in tow and eventually visited all but two states.
In addition to her husband Tom, Joyce is survived by her sons, Terry ( Amy) Hayes of Marion, Todd ( Susan ) Hayes of Sunbury, Timothy ( Colleen) of Caledonia. She will also be missed by her 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her sisters Betty Hissong and Mildred Vaughn.
Funeral Services for Joyce will be held on Tuesday September 11th, 2012 at 10:30 in the Iberia United Methodist Church with Pastor Pat Fruth officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia on Monday from 6:00 until 9:00.
