Robert A. Olson, Sr., age 89 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Tuesday September 25, 2012 at Primrose of Marion.
He was born May 11, 1923 in Rose Lake, Idaho to the late Emil and Anna (Johnson) Olson.
Twice married, Robert first married Lena H. Sica who preceded him in death, and then married Faye Elizabeth Kuhn, who also preceded him in death.
Robert was a retired Truck Driver with Signal Trucking Co. through the Whirlpool Corporation. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran of W.W.II.
Robert was an avid car enthusiast, cars of all kinds. He also enjoyed his daily routine with his coffee buddies.
Robert is survived by a daughter and two sons; Candice L. (Thomas) Gray of Noblesville, Ind., Robert A. (Gale) Olson, Jr., of Prospect, Ohio, and Christopher E. (Anita) Olson of Westerville, Ohio. Also surviving are five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Ann Prater of Puyallup, Washington, an Uncle, Walter H. (Emma) Olson of Camby, Oregon, and one nephew and three nieces.
There will be a funeral service for Robert on Saturday September 29, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Dan Kiger. A graveside burial service with military rites will take place at a later date in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday three hours prior to the service from 2 to 5 P.M.
