Carol “Bubbles” Jones Oliver ChapmanWhile surrounded by her loving family, Carol “Bubbles” Jones Oliver Chapman went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2012.

Nicknamed early in life by her Daddy, Bubbles was born on April 1, 1947 in Marion, Ohio to the late Charles Edwin and Ila “Nanny” (Deem) Jones.

Bubbles attended Marion Harding High School where she met Robert “Bob” Henry Oliver.  They later married on May 23, 1964.   Together, they had four children, Christine, (Danny) Sias, Sherri (Joe) Dalton, Robin (Rocky) Johnston, and Robert Jr. (Brenda) Oliver. After fighting bravely, Bob lost his battle with cancer on February 17, 1998.

On June 10, 2000, Bubbles married Gary Chapman, and he survives.  From this relationship, she has two stepchildren Troy (Erin) Chapman and Tracey Mannasmith.

For many years, Bubbles worked as an assistant manager at the North Main Street McDonald’s.  And, until her illness in November 2011, she worked at American Legion 584 and Amvets 3313.

Fondly remembered for her sense of humor and love for laughter, she will mostly be remembered for loving family, friends, and the joy of giving to those less fortunate.  Bubbles didn’t want people to be sad or feel sorry for her during her illness because “Everything happens for a reason” which is the motto she shared with all of us throughout her life.

In addition to being survived by her spouse, children, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren (with two on the way), stepchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, she is also survived by her two very loved sisters and her best friends, Rose Mary Conley and Georgia “Penny” (Larry) Johnson.  In addition to the many nieces and nephews, Bubbles had a mother’s love to her beautiful nieces Kathy Hamilton, Lisa Young, and Ila “Dolly” Thompson and her nephew Brian Wilson.  And, she had a very special loving relationship with Charlotte Blanton and Rita Jones.

Bubbles was preceded in death by sisters Bertha “Punkie” Guldborg and Ila Sue Jones and brother Charles “Junior” Jones.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 10AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.  Officiating the service will be Rev. Grover Caudill.  Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery.  Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, October 26, 2012 at the funeral home from 2-4/6-8PM.
