Cora B. Cook, age 73, of Marion, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012, at the Marion General Hospital.
Cora was born on August 3, 1939, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Enos and Mary (Beltz) Brechbill.
Cora spent time working at a men’s clothing shop, Eaton’s in Marion and primarily as a devoted homemaker.
On March 30, 1974, Cora was united in marriage to Kenneth Cook in Marion. Together they shared 38 years of marriage.
Cora will be remembered for her love of crocheting. Everything she made, she made with love to give away. There is nothing she would not do for anyone. She had a very generous spirit. She also loved to cook, can, and feed the one’s she loved. She was also a longtime member of the New Bloomington Methodist Church.
Those she leaves to honor her memory include her husband Kenneth Cook; her children: Rick (LaShell) Shope, Charlene (Troy) Harris, Larry (Cindi) Cook, Linda (Steve) Keirns, Lois “Eddie” (Merle) Chesser and Robert “Bob” (Angie) Cook; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; Siblings: Ruth Smith, Nancy Burley, Enos Brechbill, Jr. and Paul Labon Brechbill; also many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Helen Vance and Esther Berry.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11AM with Rev. Sara Hill officiating; Burial will be in the Waldo Cemetery.
