Judie May “Jodie” Benge, age 71, of Marion, died Sunday, October 14, 2012 in Cleveland, TN.
Judie was born on April 29, 1941, in Vinton County, OH., to the late T. Dembo and Minnie F. (Reed) McCoy, she survives.
She married Arthur L. Benge in Marion on 1966. He preceded Jodie in death on September 11, 2005.
She worked for the Scotch and Sirloin for over 18 years and Heartland of Marysville as an LPN, enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading and volunteering for the Girl Scouts. For over 40 years, Judie was a member of Fairpark Baptist Church.
Judie is survived by her mother, Minnie of Marion; son, William “Bill” H. Benge of Cleveland, TN; daughters, Candice L. (John) Bice of Cleveland, TN, and Florence M. “Misty” (Ferdinand) Whalen II of Marion; sisters, Dorothy Back of Zephyr Hills, FL., Lenora Rhoden, Rosemary (Dave) Green of Sarasota, FL., and Ruth McCoy; brothers, David (Diane) MCoy of Toledo and William (Penny) McCoy of Willard, OH.; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; father; son, John W. Smith; and three brothers, Tim, Jim, and Elmar McCoy.
Friends may call Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 5PM until 7PM at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held 10:30AM, Friday, October 19, 2012 at Fairpark Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Durtsche officiating. Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery.
