Roger Parker, 66, of Marion

Roger D. Parker age 66 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Tuesday October 23, 2012 at Marion General Hospital.

He was born September 9, 1946 in Putney, W. Va. to the late Senate and Opal (Hamrick) Parker.

On November 11, 1966 in Columbus, Ohio, he married Bonnie M. Hammonds and she survives.

Roger was retired as a Floater with the Whirlpool Corp. He also enjoyed fishing and very much loved spending time with all of his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Roger is survived by two daughters and a son; Annetta Collins and Tina Lindley, both of Marion, Ohio, and Greg Griffith of Franklin Furnace, Ohio. Five grandchildren survive; Michael Collins, Jr., Tiffany (Jesse) Anderson, Kristine (Zak) Collins, Nichole Parker, and Whittney Griffith, as well as six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters; Joyce Zymkowski of Pataskala, Ohio, Paula (Homer) Cordle of Westerville, Ohio, Pat King of Charleston, W. Va., Dottie (Jim) Freeman of Little Birtch, W. Va., and Judy Austin of Charlotte, N. Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Parker.

Funeral Services for Roger will be Monday October 29, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Audie Murphy. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday October 28, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M.
