Dorothy Valera Dever, 86, of Marion

Dorothy Valera Dever, age 86, passed away early Friday morning at Heartland of Marion Nursing Center.

Born in Union County on August 30, 1926 to Frank and Mildred (Wilson) Hendrickson, she married Robert Dever on December 31, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1995.

Dorothy had been a loving  wife, mother, grandmother, sister and partner and was preceded in death by a daughter; Shirley Smith, 3 brothers, 4 sisters and 2 grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter; Linda (Herb) Klingel of Marion, a son; Robert Dever of Marion, a sister; Helen Smith of Richwood, 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and her special friend; Russell Ross.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Willis Moe officiating. Burial will follow in the Claridon Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 5 PM – 7 PM at the funeral home.
