James C. Steffey age 77 of Napoleon, Ohio, and formerly of Marion, Ohio, passed away Sunday November 11, 2012 at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance, Ohio.
He was born August 22, 1935 in Wheelwright, Ky. to the late Frank and Delphia (Tackett) Steffey.
On March 14, 1957 in Marion, he married Phyllis Large and she preceded him in death on May 23, 2011 in Defiance, Ohio.
James at one time was an employee of the Marion Co. Highway Dept. and also Nelsons Tree Service. He was a U.S. Army Korean Veteran and a member of the V.F.W. and the AmVets.
James is survived by a son, Rickey Lee (Sally) Steffey of Napoleon, Ohio, two grandsons, Josh and Matt and two great- grandsons, Conner and Cole. Also surviving are three sisters and two brothers. Besides his wife and parents, James was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sara.
Funeral Services for James will be Thursday November 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Paul McKenzie. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
