Jewell M. Laughrey age 68 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Sunday November 11, 2012 at her residence.
She was born December 31, 1943 in Richwood, Ohio to the late John Corbit and Marie (Perkins) Poe.
Jewell was preceded also in death by her former husband Gail L. Laughrey in 2001.
She was of the Baptist Faith and dearly loved and enjoyed her children and all of her grand and great-grandchildren. Jewell also loved baking and butterfingers. For many years she worked in admitting at Marion Area Health Center.
Jewell is survived by three daughters and two sons; Valerie (Steven C.) Ramsey of Marion, Ohio, Shelly (Dean) Chapman of Raymond, Ohio, Jeffrey (Belinda) Simpson of Bella Vista, Ak., Rhonda (Andy) Porter of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and Chad (Kim) Laughrey of Columbus, Ohio. And, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren survive. Jewell also leaves behind four sisters and three brothers; Orpha (Bob) Johnson of Marion, Ohio, Lydia Peck of Richwood, Ohio, Dottie Martyr of Dayton, Ohio, Mildred Huffman of Marion, Ohio, Cecil and Melvin Poe both of Marion, Ohio, and Ralph (Dottie) Poe of Alabama, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and former husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers; Gladys Vaughn, Stella Tillman, and James and Archie Poe.
Funeral Services will be Friday November 16, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Pastor William Kyle. Burial will follow in the Claiborne Cemetery in Claiborne, Ohio. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Thursday November 15, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M.
