Charles W. Sidenstricker, age 89, of Marion, passed away Thursday evening at Marion Manor Nursing Center.
Born in Marion on August 18, 1923 to Charles and Mildred (Throckmorton) Sidenstricker, he married the former Geneva Underwood on June 6, 1948 and she survives at home.
He was a 1943 graduate of Harding High School and had retired from his positions with both the Erie and Conrail railroads in 1980.
A member of Crosswood United Methodist Church, he was also a member of Marion Lodge #70 F & AM, AASR-Valley Of Columbus and Aladdin Shrine Temple.
Along with his wife; Geneva, he is survived by a stepbrother; Charles Pine, a brother-in-law; Lester Underwood, 2 nephews; Milton and Brian Underwood, 3 nieces; Susan Jarvis, Rosemary Cox and Nancy Church, 3 special grand-nieces; Grace, Hannah and Abigail Underwood and several other great nieces, nephews and special friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4 PM – 6 PM at the funeral home where Masonic Services will be held at 5:45 PM.
