Jenny Lynn VanMeter, age 28 of Delaware died unexpectedly Monday, December 10, 2012 at Grady Memorial Hospital.
She was born on June 29, 1984 in Delaware to Judy L. (Long) Van Meter of Delaware and Tim A. Van Meter of Cleburn, Texas. She attended Delaware Hayes High School and participated in the nursing program at Delaware J.V.S. North.
Her life’s journey was difficult, especially after the untimely death of her brother Tim “T.J.” VanMeter on March 15, 2002. Blessed with a wonderful smile, she was friendly and caring in her own unique way. She was a worrier who tried to help others the best she could, especially her mom. She also assisted her grandfather with his garden.
She was baptized at the Eastside Mission Church and loved all animals, especially those mistreated. With and artistic flare, she wrote poetry and enjoyed listening to music. Jenny also had a passion for fashion, creating or improvising many of her own clothes.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by Maternal Grand-parents: Willard & Marjorie Long of Delaware, Uncles; John (Bea) VanMeter of Huron, Jim VanMeter of Florida, Will “Uncle Googlee” (Mary Kirk) Long of Marysville, Joy Long of Delaware, Jamie Long of Delaware, and Aunt: Sherry Perkins of Delaware, Cousins: Matt Van Meter, Mark VanMeter, Julie (Steve) Cline, Brandon Long, Drake Long, numerous other family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by Paternal Grandparents: James F. & Enola Van Meter.
Friends may call Friday 4-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36) Delaware. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Eastside Mission Church, 32 Joy Ave., Delaware, with Rev. Donnie Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Marlborough Cemetery.
