Leland Alva Myers age 84 of Marion passed away December 23, 2012 at Heartland of Marion after a brief illness.
Born August 6, 1928 to John and Lulu Myers of Marion. He graduated from Harding High School in 1946.
Leland was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from the railroad in 1990. He was a member of IBEW, and worked as a private electrician in Marion and surrounding areas.
Leland is survived by his wife June Ruth (Lawson) Myers whom he was married to for 62 years. He is also survived by two daughters, Susan Lee (Myers) Welch of Marion, and Marjorie Jean (Myers) Coldiron of Aiken, South Carolina, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Leland is preceded in death by one son Thomas Orville Myers who passed away in 1994.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the First Church of the Brethren, 860 East Church Street, with Rev. Rick Hicks Officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Pleasant Township Cemetery.
