Peggy Jo Blevins, age 72, of Marion passed away Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter.
Born in Bucyrus, Ohio on July 25, 1940 to Orin and Beatrice (McKernan) Parsel, she married Carl Blevins who preceded her in death in 2005.
She was also preceded in death by her mother; Beatrice Drake, a son; Donald Drake, a grandchild; Gabriel Brown, a sister; Nancy Stuckman and a brother; Danny Barlow.
Although she worked in retail sales for many years, she was most known as being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her large and extended family. She enjoyed her time when a member of both the Marion Moose Lodge and the Marion Eagles Aerie and was a former Marion Township Trustee.
Among those surviving are her daughter; Shelly (Jeff) Brown of Marion, her 2 sons; Tim Drake Sr. and Chris (Erin) Blevins, both of Marion, 2 special daughters; Misty Cabanas and Amy Perez, her 2 brothers; Paul and Richard Barlow, her 4 sisters; Virginia Boggs, Midge Schumann, Carolyn Buell and Pam Grubb, her 3 grandchildren; Tim Drake Jr. (Edie) and Cody Drake, both of Fairborn and Haley Drake of Marion, 7 stepchildren, 16 step-grandchildren and 25 step-great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home, 318 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Marion, OH. Services honoring her life will follow there at 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the American Kidney Foundation.
