Randolph “Randy” Hicks age 69 of Morral, Ohio passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 at his residence.
He was born December 18, 1943 in Martin, KY., to the late Henry G. and Bethel M. (Prater) Hicks.
On October 1, 1962 he married Darla J. (Miller).
Randy was employed at Whirlpool Corporation for 39 years as an expeditor. In his free time Randy umpired softball and baseball games, refereed football games and very active in Ridgedale Sports where he started summer softball for girls in the late 70’s, coached softball at Ridgedale as assistant from 1987-1989 and Head coach from 1989-1992. He was also known as a great amateur photography at Ridgedale taking parents night photos and hall of fame pictures.
Randy is survived by his wife, Darla J. Hicks of Morral, Oh., daughter, Jessica L. (Russ) Rife of Prospect, Oh. son, Rondal (Susan) Hicks of Morral, Oh., two granddaughters, Marla Hicks of Morral, Oh., and Elle Hicks of Morral, Oh., his brother, Dana J. Hicks of Chapel Hill, NC., and one niece, K. Susannah Hicks of Oak Island, NC.
Funeral services for Randy will be Saturday, December 29, 2012 @ 10 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Scannel officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2012 from 4 – 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
