Vernon E. “Bing” Stage age 81 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Tuesday December 11, 2012 at Heartland of Marion.
He was born October 7, 1931 in Athens, Ohio to the late Elmer and Gladys Stage.
On September 28, 1952 he married the late Barbara Jean Guseman.
He is preceded in death by his three brothers Allen, Joe and David.
He is survived by his children Sharon (Glen) Snider, Darrell Stage, Becky (Marshall) Boswell, Doug (Ruth) Stage, Dale (Leslie) Stage, and Mary (Quintin) Beatty all of Marion, Ohio. Grandchildren surviving are Tabitha (Glen) Lewis of Biloxi, MS, Kris (Erica) Stage, Steven (Jessica) Stage, Janelle Stage and Andrew Beatty of Marion, Josh Stage of Prospect, Austin (Heidi) Stage of Caledonia, Zachary (Robin) Beatty of Findlay and Justin and Dustin Stage of Manford, OK., and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Vernon was retired from Eaton Corporation after 31 years, he was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, was inducted into the Athens High School Athletic Hall of Fame in September of 2012, and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving from 1951 to 1955.
Funeral Services for Vernon will be Saturday December 15, 2012 at 9:00 A.M. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Marion, Ohio. Officiating the service will be Pastor Riley Powell. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Friday December 14, 2012 from 5 to 8 P.M.
