Joseph E. Grace age 84 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Tuesday January 15, 2013 at Heartland of Marion.
He was born April 10, 1928 in Ashland, Ohio to the late Otto and Estella (Marshell) Grace. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Ann.
On July 4, 1948 he married Louise Griffith and she preceded him in death and he later married Gloria High Dettra and she survives.
Joseph was a retired minister serving a Nazarene church in Osgood, Indiana. He was a member of the Kensington Church of the Nazarene in Marion, Ohio. Joseph was also a W.W.II U.S. Army Veteran.
Besides his wife Gloria, he leaves behind a daughter and eight sons; Anita (John) Graham of Fishers, Ind., David (Pauline) Grace of Richwood, Oh., Roger (Sue) Grace of Grove City, Oh., Mel (Barb) Grace of Jackson, Mi., Tom (Vickey) Grace of Westport, Ky., Steve (Lisa) Grace of Texas City, Tx., Samuel Dettra of Merrit Island, Fla., Peter Dettra of Mt. Gilead, Oh., Timothy Dettra of Marion, Oh., and twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Karen Lobdell of Delaware, Oh., and a brother, Larry Grace of Puyallup, Wa.
There will be a Graveside Service and Burial for Joseph on Thursday January 17, 2013 at 3:30 P.M. in the Pleasant Cemetery in Marion Co. Officiating the service will be Rev. Ron Takala. Calling Hours will take place at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home in Marion, Ohio on Thursday also from 1 to 3 P.M., and a Memorial Service will also take place on Sunday January 20, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. at the Kensington Church of the Nazarene.
