Mary Jean Norris, 90, of Marion

Mary Jean NorrisMary Jean Norris age 90 of Marion, Ohio passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at Crystal Care in Ashland, Ohio.

She was born July 4, 1922 in York Center, Ohio to the late Kay and Julia Irene (Sprague) Miller.

Mary graduated from Morral High School in 1940 and attended Marion Bisiness College. On April 25, 1943 Easter Sunday, she married Robert Day Norris, he preceded her in death on December 29, 1969.

Mary was employed at Osgood Manufacturing, Uhlman’s Department Store in Delaware, Ohio and the Marion Power Shovel for 13 years in the Reproduction Department. She was a member for many years at Cornerstone Alliance Church, Pleasant Senior Center and honorary member of Prospect Senior Center.

She is survived by her son, Robert E. “Bob” (Carolyn) Norris of Ashland, Oh., three grandchildren, Randy (Christina) Norris of Cincinnati, Oh., Tim (Allison) Norris of Ashland, Oh., Jennifer (Jamie) Goldsberry of Gahanna, Oh., six great grandchildren, Carter, Anna, Lyda, Avery, Jackson, Brennen, two nieces, Dorthy “Dot” Young of Marion, Oh., Delores “Babe” (Jerry) Knickle of Marion, Oh., three nephews, Lloyd “Gene” Wallace of Montana, John Norris of Prospect, Oh., Jerry (Lisa) Norris of Prospect, Oh., Dan Norris of California and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Francis Elanor Wallace and brother, Lester Sheridan Miller.

Funeral services for Mary will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 @ 1:30 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Marlborough Cemetery in Delaware, Ohio. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, January 11, 2013 from 12 – 1:30 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
