Michael Joseph Williams, age 60, of Kenton and formerly of Marion, died Monday evening, December 31, 2012.
On September 2, 1952, Michael was born in Kenton, the son of the late Harold and Janice Williams.
After losing his mother when he was an infant, he was raised by his loving step mother, Christina (Fugate) Williams. As a family they moved to Marion, where he graduated from Marion Harding High School in the Class of 1970.
Shortly following graduation, Michael began working as a machinist at Fairfield Engineering in Marion, where he worked for over 30 years. For the past ten years, he had worked at Rialto Manufacturing in New Bloomington. He also had served in the Ohio National Guard for four years.
For the past ten years, Michael had lived in Kenton with his partner and companion, LuLu Beery.
With a love of music, Michael’s favorite past time was playing his favorite classic rock and roll songs on his guitar. In his younger days, he also enjoyed fishing and camping.
Always quiet and keeping to himself, anyone who knew Michael, knew he was thoughtful, loving and caring man.
Michael with be dearly missed by his companion, LuLu Beery; his son, Jason (Becky) Williams of Marion; two grandchildren: Dane and Emerson Williams; four siblings: Bonnie (Jack) Williams of Sevierville, TN, Sherry (David Lane) Mohr of Wake Forest, NC, Robert (Robin) Williams, and Tony Williams, both of Marion; several nieces and nephews; and former wives: Sheila Litzenberg and Laura Sedlock.
His family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services honoring his life will follow there at 3:00 p.m., with Celebrant Don Lockwood officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Peyton Weaver Fund, whose mother, Heidi Hecker, recently was killed by a drunk driver. They may be sent to the care of the funeral home.
