Patricia Louise Owens age 84 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Sunday January 20, 2013 at her residence.
She was born November 8, 1928 in Marion to the late Gayle H. and Elsie (Richardson) Owens.
Pat was a graduate of Marion Harding High School and the Bowling Green University.
She was a retired school teacher for thirty years with the Marion City Schools.
Pat was also a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and Marion Republican Club. She served on boards of Marion Technical College, Mobile Meals, Artisans’ Guild and Junior Service Guild. Pat also volunteered at Marion General Hospital, Heritage Hall, Mobile Meals, O.S.U. Marion, Pleasant and Pearl St. Schools.
Pat is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Jack (Beulah) Owens of Marion, Ohio, three nieces and a nephew; Barbara Longstreth and children, Billy, Brian, Tim and Kevin; Mary Weichel and children, Deryk, Nicholas, and Monet (Jaime) Sigueroa; Lyndsay (Jared) Somerlot and children, Destinee and Brayden, and James (Sharon) Owens and children, Jordan (Jennifer), Curtis and Courtney.
Besides her parents, Pat was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Owens.
There will be a Memorial Service for Pat on Thursday January 24, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Officiating the service will be pastor Mark Schuring. Burial will take place at a later date in Marion Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
