Rev. Jim Richard Meade 89 of Morral, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 22, 2013 at Kindred Health Care of Marion.
He was born on March 14, 1923 in Magoffin County Kentucky, the son of the late Mart and Jenny (Blanton) Meade.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Jack Meade, three sisters, Arlene Conley, Elizabeth Meade, Beck Jenkins and seven grandchildren. A brother, Dan Meade survives in Kentucky.
Jim was a W.W.II U.S. Army Veteran, a construction laborer and helped build the Ridgedale High School Gymnasium.
He was a long time member of Gebhardt Church and Assistant Pastor at one time. He was an Evangelist and traveled around the States spreading the Gospel.
On October 23, 1942 Jim married the love of his life, Sola (Lemaster) and together they had twelve children; Julie Jean Bentley of Morral, Oh., Willis (Norma) of Oceola, Oh., Delano (Dianne) of Lucasville, Oh., Harry (Jackie) of Upper Sandusky, Oh., Wanda (Bob) Stowe of Nevada, Oh., Gary (Shirley) of Morral, Oh., Cathy (Charlie) McCoy of Marion, Oh., Larry (Judy) of Nevada, Oh., Rick of Marion, Oh., LeRoy (Wendy) of Upper Sandusky, Oh., Sammie of Marion, Oh., and Marty of Morral, Oh. Sixty-four grandchildren, ninety-two great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren also survive.
On October 23 2012 Jim and Sola celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary at the Gebhardt Church Fellowship Hall with their children and many grand and great, great grand children.
Funeral Services for Rev. Meade will be Friday January 25, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the White Oaks Road Freewill Baptist Church. Officiating the service will be Revs. Russell Manns and Edd Moore. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the church two hours prior to the funeral service from 11:00 to 1:00.
