Jack L. Willis age 59 of Marion, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at his residence after a sixteen month battle with brain cancer.
He was born August 12, 1953 in Marion, Ohio to James R. and Gladys M.(Welch) Willis.
On September 29, 1973 he married Jacklyn C. (Clapham) Willis.
Jack graduated from Marion Harding High Scool in 1972, was a member of Salem Evangelical Church in Marion. He was formerly employed at Marion Power Shovel for ten years and retired after twenty-two years at Honda of America.
He is survived by his wife, Jacklyn C. Willis of Marion, Oh., two daughters, Tamaleh L. (Brian) Shaeffer of Columbus, Oh., Holly N. (AJ) Burden of New Albany, Oh., two sisters, Erma (Ken) Lester of Apopka, Fl., Carolyn (Tom) Harrigan of Clermont, Fl., mother in law, Alice M. Clapham of Marion, Oh., brother in law, Gary (Debbie) Clapham of Marion, Oh., sister in law, Cindy (Shawn) Luikart of Marion, Oh., and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James R. Willis and his mother and step father, Gladys M. and John E. Jones.
Funeral Services for Jack will be held Thursday, February 28, 2013 @ 11 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Hord and Pastor J. Patrick Street officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 5 – 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Marion General Hospice in care of the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
