Phyllis A. Holloway, age 80, of Marion, died Friday, February 08, 2013 at her home.
She was born March 11, 1932 to the late Thomas and Caroline (Griffith) Chapman in Marion, OH.
On January 23, 1952, Phyllis married Robert A. Holloway, who survives.
During her working years, Phyllis was employed by Kresge, JC Penney, and Uhler Department Stores as a clerk and a greeter at Wal-Mart. She was well known for her baking and candy making, enjoyed bowling, a member of The First Church of The Nazarene, and above all else, she loved her family.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Robert A. Holloway; children, Stewart J. Holloway, of Marion, Bruce A. (Roxanne) Holloway, of La Rue, and Judy A. Wilson of Marion; brother, Melvin (Martha) Chapman, of Marion; sister, Dorothy J. Thomas, of Marion; sister-in-law, JeLaine Chapman; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; special friends, Jean Thomas and Sharon Hunt; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bobby S. Thompson, and brothers, Thomas “Bud” Chapman and James Chapman.
Friends may call from 10AM until noon on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at The First Church of The Nazarene where funeral services will be held at noon, with Pastor Steve deWeber officiating. Burial will follow at the Marion Cemetery. Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors are handling arrangements.
