Barbara E Mount (Hicks) of Marion, Ohio, born in Greenup, KY on Dec 19, 1940, left this earth peacefully in her home on March 12, 2013 to spend her eternal life with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
Barbara was a devout Christian who lived her life with the Holy Spirit in her heart preparing for the day she would be called home to God. She was loved and cherished by many, her presence on earth will be missed, but her spirit will live in our hearts forever, we will see her again at the gates of Heaven.
Barbara retired from Whirlpool Industries in 1998, and was an active member of Enterprise Baptist Church where she volunteered many hours assisting in the Food Pantry; she also gave generously to numerous charities. She is the daughter of the late Raymond Hicks of Greenup, KY & Mary Knapp of Marion, OH and is preceded in death by stepson, Greg Mount of Richwood, OH; great-granddaughter, Jaylah Chaffin of Port Clinton, OH; brothers, Vernon Hicks of Oakhill, OH and Clarence Hicks of Marion, OH.
She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, William L Mount; son, Mike (Sharon) Christian of Edison, OH; daughters, Sharon (Ken) Martin of Angleton, TX, Carol (Rick) Flowers of Heath, OH, Lisa (Larry) Davis of Powell, OH; stepchildren, Marla (Greg) Dripps of Marion, OH, Rick (Faith) Mount of Mt. Victory, OH; sisters, Eve (Bill) Zimmerman of Ashland, OH, Rosie (Charlie) Jenkins of Waverly, OH; brothers, Eugene Hicks of Ashland, OH, Danny (Janet) Hicks of Waverly, OH and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John 11:25-26 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”
Visitation for Barbara will be Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 12 – 2 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow at 2 PM with Pastor Keith Irey officiating. Burial will take place at Prospect Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Judes in care of the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
