Michael Robert Beringer of Marion, Ohio passed away on March 24, 2013 at Marion General Hospital.
Mike was born on February 8, 1953 to Robert E. Beringer and Wilma (Lingrel) Beringer. His father survives. One sister, Patricia Beringer Williamson, survives in Delaware, Ohio along with her two sons, Bradley and Robbie Williamson.
Surviving also are three children: Brandt (Jenna) Beringer, Kristy Beringer, and Kyle (Emily) Beringer of Columbus, Ohio and two grandsons: Ethan and Jameson Beringer. Also surviving is Susan Davis Dodds, the most important person in his life with whom he had shared the last twenty-seven years.
Mike graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1971, then attended The Ohio State University at Marion. He was a life-long employee of The Fairfield Engineering Company in Marion, Ohio and later in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
After joining the Y-Men Service Club in 1985, Mike became a lifetime member and held several offices. In 1998, he received The William D. McGee Award and The President’s Cup Award in 1999. For those of you who purchased your Christmas tree from the Y-Men Service Club, you may remember Mike as the very tall man with the festive Christmas hats.
Services for Mike will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 10AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Ed Wahl and Reverend Daniel Kiger officiating the service. Burial will immediately follow at Waldo Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, March 29, 2013 from 5-8PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
