Reed L. Merwine age 88 of Marion passed away Saturday March 2, 2013 at Heartland of Marion.
Born April 17, 1924 in Morrow County to the late Clarence and Viola (Miller) Merwine.
Reed married Lillian Bridges Merwine on June 30, 1969, she passed away December 24, 2001.
Reed retired from Central Soya after 33 years. He was a World War II Veteran in the Navy.
He attended the Epworth United Methodist Church.
Reed is survived by one step-daughter, Angela (Sonny) Gay of Marion, one step-son David (Kathy) Bridges of Marion. three sisters, Eilleen Cameron of Melbourne, Florida, Marie Cooperider of Fairborn, Ohio, Helen Brock of Falmouth, Kentucky, numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Redd are his parents, wife Lillian, step-daughter Sharon Salyers, step-son Michael Bridges, two sisters,Velma Peters, Kathlean Summerfield, two brothers,Junior, and William Merwine.
Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Epworth United Methodist Church 249 East Center Street. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery with the Marion County Veterans conducting Military Honors.
