Robert Warren Turner (91) of Marion, Ohio went to be with the Lord March 13, 2013.
Bob, the son of Alexander Warren Turner and Laura Viola (Shuster) Turner, was born June 25th 1921.
He served in WWII in the Army as an air traffic controller in Italy and Africa.
On October 15, 1949, he married Alice Virginia Robertson, also of Marion. She preceded him in death on January 19th 2004, as well as three brothers: John William Turner (Dorothy), James Turner (Naomi) and Ralph Gene Turner.
Robert is survived by three sons: Robert David (Susan) of Evanston, Illinois, Ronald Allen (Teri) of Marion, and Jeffrey Lee (Lisa) of Powell and three grandchildren: Alex, Rachel, and Nathan.
A life-long member of Trinity Baptist Church, Bob was a Sunday school teacher, served on the board of Deacons, and many other committees.
During his working years, Bob was first employed as a plumber at Bender Plumbing, a salesman for Commonwealth Life Insurance Company and retired as a salesman for Servex Electronics.
A devoted father, grandfather, and churchman, Robert spent numerous hours attending grandchildren’s events, visiting infirmed family and church members, and playing euchre.
The Turner family wishes to express their appreciation for the excellent care and loving attention from the staffs of Marion Manor and Sterling House, and the strength and support of Marion General Hospice.
Visiting hours with the Turner family will be Sunday, March 17th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. The Memorial service will be on Monday, March 18th at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Farmer presiding with burial at the Chapel Heights Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Marion County United Veterans Council.
