Robin Lee “Pops” Turner, 58, of Marion

Robin Lee “Pops” TurnerRobin Lee “Pops” Turner, age 58, of Marion died Monday, March 4, 2013, at Partners of Marion following an extended illness.

A disabled US Army veteran, Robin volunteered to enter the military at age 17 to fulfill his obligation to serve his country.  He served from 1971-1974.

He formerly resided in Oklahoma and was active with The Salvation Army.

A free spirit, Robin loved to travel and will be remembered for having hitchhiked across the country.

He was born July 27, 1954, in Marion to the late Neil and Ernistine Charlton Turner.  He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Robert Cole.

Survivors include his 2 sons, Joshua G. (Kelsie) Turner, Delaware; and Daniel (Alisha) Turner, Lima; 6 grandchildren, Timothy, Kaitlyn & Olivia Turner, and Seth, Logan, & Kaitlynn Stevens; 11 siblings, David  Turner, Beth Cowles, Becky Jordan, Kathy May, Neil Turner, Theresa Turner, Richard Cole, Kathy Cunningham, Roger Cole, Ronnie Cole, and Karen Cole, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of Robin’s life will take place at a later date.  Following cremation, interment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
