Edith Faye Sharp, age 78, of the Meeker area, died Friday March 29, 2013 at 11:32 PM at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware, Ohio.
She was born May 21, 1934 in Marion County near Meeker to the late Emerson and Zelma (Sloat) McKelvy.
On December 11, 1955 she married Richard D. Sharp and he died June 25, 2010.
She is survived by one Son, James (Denise) Sharp of Meeker and one Daughter Karen (Steve) Herr also of Meeker. Grandchildren; Steve (Robyn) Herr Jr, Kelly (Brandon) Simmons, James Wesley (Rachel) Sharp, Jamie Lee Sharp and Monica (Jason) Tom. Twelve Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother Charles Alan McKelvy and one sister Elsie Marcene Schnitzler.
Mrs. Sharp was a homemaker and graduated from Meeker High School in 1952 where she was the Salutatorian of her class of eight. She also was a cheerleader. She worked for 5 years as a secretary for GTE of Marion.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday April 2, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. M. Joseph Miller. Burial will be at a later date. Family will receive friends 2 hours before service time at the funeral home in LaRue.
