Leonard Thompson went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 14, 2013 at 2:10am at Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born on July 4, 1958 in Kenton. OH to the late Eskel and Maxine (Fields) Thompson.
On December 28, 1983 he married the love of his life Geneva Thompson standing in the kitchen of his mother and stepfathers home in front of the wood burning stove. Geneva brought with her 3 children, Angie, Brian and Crystal who quickly became his heart and world.
Leonard was a big Ohio State football fan and he dearly loved his “Fur Babies” Spike, Jordan and Duke who brought him great laughter filled with wagging tails and lots of kisses. His 3 grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda and Nathanial were the apples in his eyes and he loved and spoiled them daily.
Surviving are his loving wife of 30 years, Geneva (Taylor) Thompson of Marion, a son, Brian L. Hoffer(Karen and children) of Marion, 2 daughters Angela R. Young and Crystal G Lane. 3 grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda and Nathanial. 2 brothers Charlie(Chris) Thompson of Marion, Kenny(Patricia) Thompson of Marion, 3 sisters Mary Ward(Russell), Ruth Ann Dunn of Marion and Donna (Michael) Queen of Portsmouth, OH. 2 Brother-in-Laws George Thompson and Jim Blanton. Also surviving is his step father Roy “Blackie” Burk of Portsmouth, OH. Numerous neices and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Fred Thompson, 3 sisters Doris Thompson, Alice Blanton and Faye Welch. Also by 2 brother-in-laws Terrance Welch Sr. and Eugene Dunn.
Friends may call on Friday April 19 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral to be held Saturday April 20, 2013 at 11:00am at Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Minister David Harruff, long time friend. Burial will follow at the Price Cemetery.
