Mary “Jean” Clingenpeel, age 66, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, April 2, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born on March 6, 1947 in Marion, the daughter of the late Jay and Dorothy (Powell) Bevis. Jean attended the Elgin High School and graduated in the class of 1965. After high school, she attended the Ohio State University.
On July 10, 1976, Jean was united in marriage to Richard E. Clingenpeel in Grundy, Virginia. Jean worked as an office clerk at the Columbia Gas Company, Marion License Bureau and in Home Health.
Jean is survived by her devoted husband Richard E. Clingenpeel; her sons: Michael (Angie) and Thomas Clingenpeel; grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Jay Clingenpeel; Sisters: Sylvia (Paul) Harmon and Joan (Bill) Hartley; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a son Troy Keller.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11AM at the Prospect Street United Methodist Church, 185 S Prospect Street, Marion with Pastor Nancy Goulet officiating.
