Rev. Charles E. SandersThe Rev. Dr. Charles E. Sanders, BA, MDiv, DD passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Alzheimer Care Center in Columbus, Ohio on April 17, 2013.

The Reverend Charles E. Sanders was born in Lafferty, Ohio. He was called to the ministry at age 18 and spent his early years evangelizing throughout Ohio. He graduated from Anderson University, Master of Divinity, 1991, Ashland Theological Seminary, Doctor of Ministry, May 1995.

He passionately served the congregation of Victory Center Church of God, Marion, Ohio from 1999 until he retired in 2010 to Mansfield, Ohio. His life was centered on the ministry and lived to share the word of God with everyone he could reach.

His prior works include serving as pastor at Shelby Church of God, Shelby, Ohio and Church of God, Anderson, Indiana, and Church of God, Climb Road, Columbus, Ohio.

He baptized most all of his family, and hundreds of fellow Christians.  He married his daughters, his son and accompanied the wedding service of his grandson, and hundreds of other couples.

He was inspired through reading, learning, listening and singing.  He loved to work in his garden, work with his hands around the church and home and his favorite pastime was to go shopping.  He had a passion for his family and for many years he gathered his family in Myrtle Beach for vacation.  He loved the sand and ocean.  He taught his family to always love and put God first, spouse, then children and God will always provide.

Rev. Charles married Juanita Wright in 1962 and celebrated 50 glorious years of marriage this past November.  He was preceded in death by parents John Sanders and Georgia (Gallagher), brothers Harold and Leroy, sisters Delores and Thelma (Berry).  He is survived by his wife, Juanita, daughter Cheryl (Kevin Robinson), son Chuck (Elizabeth Sanders), daughter Christa (Jay Brown).  Also by five grandchildren: Brandon (Christina Adkins), Jaimee Robinson, Kelsey, Marissa and Caleb Brown.  Sisters Marlene (Roger Senakievich) and Sandy (Ron Smith).  Nephews Ronnie Smith, Roger, Jr., and Rick Senakievich, and Johnny (Mistak).  Niece Connie (Drewett) Senakievich.

One thing I have desired of the Lord that will I seek that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.  Ps. 27:4.

Family and friends will gather in the sanctuary at Victory Center Church of God in Marion, Ohio to honor and celebrate the life of Dr. Sanders. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 23, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Services will proceed at 7:00 pm. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park, Mansfield, Ohio on Wednesday, April 24, at 11:00 am. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, Marion, Ohio.
