James L. Carpenter Sr., age 87 of Marion, Ohio passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born September 13, 1925 in Marion, Ohio to the late Charles M. and Nita G. (Coats) Carpenter.
On March 25, 1949, he married Laura E. (Ruggles).
James was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII, he was employed as a pharmacist for forty-six years at Henney-Cooper in Marion, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Carpenter of Marion, Oh., his daughter, Nitalu Sroka of Columbia, Md., two grandsons, Adam Sroka and Joshua Sroka, a brother, Bill (Donna) Carpenter of Magnetic Springs, Oh., two sisters, Ruth Goedgikie of Richwood, Oh., Carol (Bill) Hosterman of Grove City, Oh.
James was preceded in death by his son, James L. Carpenter Jr., two brothers, Robert and Donald and one sister, Mary Lou.
A Celebration of James Life will be held Sunday, May 5 , 2013 @ 3 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Hord officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
