Nelson L. “Casey” Orth age 85 of Marion, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born near Belle Center to the late Robert and Irene (Rogers) Orth on November 25, 1927.
He married Catherine (Harder) Orth July 6, 1948 in Greenup, Kentucky.
Nelson attended Silver Creek, Belle Center and Mt. Victory Schools. He received his graduation diploma from the Ridgemont School on May 24, 2002. Nelson served in the U.S. Army spending some time in Korea.
He worked 26 years for The Huber Mfg. Company, 4 years at Fairfield Mfg. and 15 years for Service Masters. He attended the New Bloomington Methodist Church.
Surviving includes two sons, Phillip (Dora) Orth of Marblehead, Charles (Cathy) Orth of Myrtle Beach and a daughter, Amy (Terry) Hayes of Marion. Seven grandchildren, Ashley, Chaslee, Cortney, Michelle, Melissa, Lindsey and Casey. Five great grandchildren, Jacob, Elizabeth, Logan, Ellie and Harrison. Four brothers, Kenneth (Elenore) Orth of Caledonia, Harold (Alice) Orth of Austinburg, Guy Ortha of Jefferson and Dean (Nancy) Orth of Tennessee, one sister, Dorothy Johnston of Ashtabula. He was prceded in death by one brother, Maurice, one sister, Maxine and a great granddaughter, Hannah.
Visitation for Nelson will be Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home from 5 – 7 PM. Funeral Services will be Friday, May 31, 2012 at 1 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Bloomington Methodist Church or to the Donor’s Choice in care of the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
