Betty Lou Ellen Kear, age 87 of Marion, passed away at Marion General Hospital on Monday, June 10, 2013.
Betty was born on March 14, 1926 to the late Harry Ruben and Mary M. (Steventon) Baker in Dayton, OH.
She was married twice, first to Joseph Edward Berney, then to Clifford Paul Kear, both of whom are deceased.
Betty loved mission work, was a Godly woman of prayer and faith, and was also involved in the Children’s Home and Community Action Outreach.
She leaves behind two daughters, Barbara Ann (Noel Kojo) Adae-Mensah of Marion, and Violet A. (Roger) Schieman of Sturgis, SD. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Joey Jaggers, Barbara Mills, Betty Jo Carlson, Mary Dawn Underwood, and Frank Underwood as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husbands, Betty was preceded in death by 2 infant sons, a daughter, Mary Lou Ellen Hippensteel, 2 granddaughters, Dawn Blakeman and Julie Underwood, and 3 sisters, Louise, Dorothy, and Elsie.
There will be a graveside service and burial on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 12 noon at the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Pastor J.C. Church. Pall bearers will include Skip, Randy, Wesley, Brett, Joseph, and Noel. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the graveside from 10:30-11:30 AM.
