Evelyn M. Kimbel, age 90, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday evening, June 18, 2013 at Heartland of Marion.
Evelyn was born June 1, 1923, in Delaware, OH to Paul W. and Priscilla (Reckly) Augenstein, Sr. She graduated from Pleasant Township High School in the class of 1941. On April 29, 1942, Evelyn was united in marriage to Dale L. Kimbel in Ashland, KY at the 1st Methodist Church.
Evelyn spent 35 years working for ASCS as their office manager. She was involved in many organizations over the years that included Happy Hours Club, a 50 year member of Claridon Homemakers, Model A Club, various church circles, member of Prospect United Methodist Church and volunteered at Marion General Hospital.
She is survived by her daughters: Karen (the late Michael) Retterer and Nancy Kimbel; grandchildren: Todd (Jill) Retterer and Joshua Retterer; great grandchildren Bethany (Dane) Johnson, Rachel and Levi Retterer; brother Paul J. (Jan) Augenstein and many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Dale Kimbel; her parents; and a sister Juanita Davis.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 2PM to 5PM; Funeral services will be held on Monday at Prospect Street United Methodist Church, 185 S Prospect Street, Marion at 10:30AM, burial will be in Claridon Cemetery.
