Charles “Wilbur” Miller, 97

Charles “Wilbur” MillerCharles “Wilbur” Miller was born in Wyoming to Charles C. and Merle Edith (Davis) Miller on May 19th, 1916.

He was raised and worked the family ranch as a cowboy near Chugwater, Wyoming until 1945 when the family moved to Mt. Victory Ohio. He worked the farm there until 1998 and the age of 82.

Wilbur married the love of his life, Mary “Agnes” Benson on August 31st, 1963, in Marion, Ohio. Agnes preceded him on August 3rd, 2012.

Wilbur was an avid member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Knights of Columbus and the Armory Restoration Group in Kenton, Ohio. He loved doing volunteer work for them.

Wilbur is survived by his brothers, Carl  Miller, Robert  Miller, sisters Mildred Ralston and Rose Johnson, sons Joseph (Paula) Benson, James (Carol) Benson, Joseph (Kathy) Benson, 9 grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Agnes, brother John Miller, and son Jerry Benson.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of the Kenton Rehab and nursing home and the Marion Manor nursing home.

Friends may call from 5 until 8PM Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with Parish Prayers at 5PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at St. Mary Church, Marion, OH with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to MGH Hospice or the Marion Manor activities dept. Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors are handling arrangements.
