Alan D. Jackson age 62 of Marion, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born May 10, 1951 in Kenton, Ohio to Richard Jackson and Anita (Mulligan).
On December 24, 1968 he married his high school sweetheart, Connie (Simpkins).
Alan graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1970, he retired from the City of Marion after 31 years of service. He was also owner/operator of Jacks Pawn Shop in Marion for many years. Alan was a member of Victory in Truth Ministries in Bucyrus, Ohio and The Marion 50 & Over Softball League.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Jackson of Marion, Oh., his mother, Anita Howell of Pataskla, Oh., three children, Stephanie (Allen) Morris of Lakeview, Oh., Heath (Dee) Jackson of Prospect, Oh., and Shane (Mandy) Jackson of Marion, Oh., 9 grandchildren, Matt, Rochelle, Chelsea, Aiden, Roxanne, Olivia, Tyler, Wesley and Alex, 5 great grandchildren, Mya, Za’riyah, Brooklyn, Gabriel and Kaleb, two brothers, Chris Jackson of Pataskala, Oh., and Tom Canter of Marion, Oh., and his step mother, Hazel Jackson.
He was preceded in death by father, Richard Jackson, step father, Leo Howell and 2 brothers, Richard Jr. and Junior Canter.
A Celebration of Alan’s Life will be held Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Family Life Church, 2209 Marion Waldo Rd. at 2 PM with Pastors Tom and Kathy Toney officiating. The Boyd-Born Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family.
