Bertha Ilene Bowmer, age 84 of Marion, OH, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Marion General Hospital.
Bertha was born November 26, 1928 in LaRue, OH to the late Anthony and Nancy (Jones) Redd.
She was a homemaker who loved gardening, baking, crocheting, and caring for her family.
Besides her parents, preceding her in death was her first husband, Alfred E. Smith, 3 brothers and 7 sisters.
Bertha is survived by her husband, Arvil Lee Bowmer, whom she married on September 17, 1971, as well as a daughter, Clare (John) Cooke, 2 grandchildren, J. David (Kimberly) Cooke, of Marion, Kristi (Joe) Wink, of Marion, and 5 great-grandchildren, Matthew Cooke, Casey Cooke, Sadie Wink, Brady Wink, and Tanner Wink, several nieces and nephews, along with special friends, Doug and Bev Ford.
Funeral services will be Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 1PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Doug Ford. Friends may call one hour prior from 12-1pm also at the funeral home. There will be a private family graveside at the Marion Cemetery on Monday, August 26, 2013.
