Kay Joan, 58, of Bellville

Kay JoanKay Joan, age 58, of Bellville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 11, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.

Kay was born in Mount Vernon, OH on February 10, 1955, the daughter of Karl Ray and Rayma DeLee (Hughes) Simon. She graduated from Cardington High School in the class of 1974.

Kay was united in marriage to Ron Joan in Bellville, OH on August 18, 2012. Even though they were married for only one year, they filled that time with years of love and memories.

Kay loved life, and lived by the motto, “Live like there is no tomorrow”. She tackled every adventure that came across her way vigorously. She was very talented and gifted. For a time, she owned a baking company that specialized in pies.

Kay was a devoted Christ-Follower and had a deep faith in Jesus. She served with generosity and grace. She touched the lives of many children by teaching Sunday school and serving wherever she was needed. She has now received her Heavenly reward and is completely healed.

She is survived by her devoted husband Ron Joan; her loving children: Louie, Kyle and Rayma Somerlot; Step-sons: Ronald Lee (Kathy) Joan II and Roy Alan Joan; Granddaughter Ivy Nicole Somerlot; Step-grandchildren: Connor, Matthew and Brandon Joan; Siblings: Robbie Markins, Michael Simon and Tony Koebel; Aunts and uncles: Thomas and Barbara Fabian and Richard and Susie Sheldrick; She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Ray Simon, Jim Simon and Ruth Marie Koebel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 1PM to 3PM and 5PM to 7PM at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion; Funeral services celebrating her life will be at the funeral home on Thursday at 11AM with Pastor Dale Baker officiating, burial will be in the Caledonia Cemetery.
